Musica Viva Singers is going back to the Bard! Join us December 15 at 7:30 at Centretown United Church (507 Bank Street) for Winter's Tales: Shakespeare for the Season. Hear songs from the plays in settings by composers from across five centuries, from Robert Johnson to John Rutter. The program includes wintry words from Twelfth Night, The Winter's Tale, As You Like It, and Love's Labours Lost. Plus what would such a concert be without something from those seasonal classics... Richard III... and Hamlet? And we make a voyage through all four seasons via the timeless poetry of the sonnets. Musica Viva is proud to feature Shakespeare settings by contemporary Canadian women composers Laura Hawley, Christine Donkin, and Elise Letourneau. And to bring the poetry and drama vividly to life, we will be joined by actor Robin Guy of Three Sisters Theatre Company.
Our weekly rehearsals are on Mondays, 7:15 - 9:30 pm at Centretown United Church (507 Bank St.). Our next open rehearsal is for the winter/spring term and will take place on January 5th, 2026.
