Scott Richardson, music director

... is active in the Ottawa music scene as a pianist and choir director. In addition to leading Musica Viva, he directs Atlantic Voices and is Music Director at Orleans United Church. Scott is the rehearsal pianist for the Ottawa Choral Society, and accompanies two ensembles with the Ottawa Children's Choir organization. He has also played for Army Voices, the Carleton University Choir, and the Canadian Centennial Choir.

Scott has performed regularly with the Ottawa theatre troupe Bear & Company, as a singer and multi-instrumentalist (guitar, bass, piano, and accordion) in musical tributes to Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, and Gordon Lightfoot.ย  In Fall 2021, he co-created and performed in the musical theatre piece, 'No-Show: Songs From Lost Gigs' at the Gladstone Theatre.

Tom Sears, collaborative pianist

... is the versatile and often brilliant presence at the keyboard with Musica Viva since 2008. Born and raised in Ottawa; he studied with Andrew Tunis and Jean Paul Sevilla, and received a Masters of Music in piano performance from University of Ottawa in 2007. Currently he works with several local choirs, student performers as well as the occasional professional recitalist.
